Services incorporate quality living arrangements with supervision from counselors according to the resident's need for support and direction. The level of support provided to consumers will vary according to need.  Intensity of contact ranges from weekly visits to daily in-home support. Persons living in the supervised housing are expected to help with the operation and maintenance of the home and to learn to live cooperatively with housemates. The focus is on communication/ interpersonal skills. The counselor's role is to facilitate learning of the necessary skills to maintain a home, to assist the person in understanding and managing his/her illness through appropriate treatment, to intervene when necessary during times of stress, and to appropriately enjoy the resources of the community in which one lives.

For a referral to residential services, contact the Charles County Department of Health, Local Behavioral Health Authority at 301-609-5757. It is possible that there could be a waiting list, depending on need.
